The people around us can change the way we perceive the world. I used to think we can never “talk the same language” with people from other countries. Some people in my past helped me to have this insight. However this year some people I met made me to change this impression. Charlie Jones said: “You are the same today as you’ll be in five years except for two things: the books you read and the people you meet.” I am trying to read as many books as I can but on the other hand I am thankful to God to let me work with a group of such a nice people this year. Joel is one of them. He is the artist of our room; moreover, he has got a personality that makes me marvel again at how humans can be both so unique and so similar. Despite the borders that divide countries, people have so much in common and can laugh at the same stupid things. I wish him and his beautiful wife Simay happiness and all the best. Our team is more powerful than ever thanks to the different points of view we all bring to it. At every meeting, we brainstorm on the best way of teaching a topic and in the end a wonderful idea appears as a result of our often quite different contributions. We get inspired by each other and in the end, Joel creates beautiful displays. Now it is time to share some of our work with all language teachers.
If you are short of ideas check out ours; hopefully they might give you some inspiration. Come on in, open the door!
